Number:

20/20

Position:
Blocker. I like to get in people's way.

How did you come up with your derby name and number?
It’s not a terribly exciting story, but, well, I wear glasses. With my glasses, I have 20/20 vision. Without them… not so much.

Who is your derby idol?
All the chicks that came through flight school with me. They work so hard and are amazing, fearless and tough women that constantly impress me.

What derby related injuries, if any, have you had?
Nothing major so far. Plenty of bruises, scrapes, and pulled muscles though.

What is your favorite off-skates workout?
Getting ripped with June Cleave Her. Stretching and yoga.

How has derby improved your life?
When I moved to Seattle, I had no job and didn’t know anyone here. I sat on the couch all day and watched TV. I now am in the best shape of my life (yes, I know it’s cheesy to say) and I have a whole group of wonderful friends!

If you could give any advice to a new or interested skater, what would it be?
Do it. It’s scary and hard, but do it anyway. It doesn’t matter what ‘it’ is (from t-stops to turn-around sternum checks), but you’ll get it eventually as long as you keep trying.

What is your biggest fear?
Accidentally causing someone else to get hurt. I know it might happen, but I would feel so bad!

What makes you happy?
Skating! Finally figuring out that new move I’ve been working on. Knitting, good sci-fi (okay, it doesn’t have to be good), hanging out with my husband, a good book, eating yummy food.

What is your favorite color?
The color of a really good bruise. Just kidding. Actually, my favorite is blue.

If you could be anything other than human, what would you be?
Time Lord
