Killz 4 Thrillz
Why did you join TTRB?
Roller derby is amazing. But on a banked track, its heaven! Tilted Thunder is such a positive, fun, outgoing group of fantastic women, who all have the same goal. To have fun and kick some derby ass. The way it was meant to be!
How long have you been skating?
Outside of childhood skate nights, I picked up my first derby skates at the end of June 2010. After that, I joined PFM on the flat track, and discovered my love for banked track in Feb. 2011 with the first Tilted Thunder Flight School!
How has derby improved your life?
Derby has allowed me to be happy! I didn't realize it until I started, but derby is the best addiction a girl could have. You gain awesome relationships with all sorts of amazing people while getting in shape. It's a great stress relief, and it helps you gain confidence in yourself on many different levels.
What do you do with your time, other than derby?
Derby is what I daydream about, but otherwise... coffee tasting and work, a bit of soccer and snow-boarding, watching movies, and any chance to hang out with my twin, fiance, friends and family.
What do you like most about Roller Derby?
The teamwork, competition, encouragement, diversity, atmosphere, playing offense and defense at the same time, the whole Shazam!
Do you have a quote/saying that means a lot to you?
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'd die today." James Dean... and " I'm a bad ass-mudda-who don't take no crap off nobody!" -movie: Cool Runnings
If you could give any advice to a new or interested skater, what would it be?
Keep skating! You will get better no matter what if you keep at it. Remember to always have fun! Only compare yourself to yourself, and remember to recognize your successes. Try not to beat yourself up. You can do it, put your ass into it!
What is your biggest fear?
Gaining allergies that don't allow me to enjoy things like cheese, chocolate, and beer!
What is your beverage of choice?
