Bad Wolf
Q. What brought you to the Tilted Thunder Rail Birds?
I started skating in January 2010 with PFM, and several of my friends started skating with Tilted Thunder. Once I had the opportunity to skate on the banked track, I just fell in love with it. There really is nothing like playing roller derby on a banked track!
Q. How did you come up with your name?
My derby name is a reference to Doctor Who. The words Bad Wolf appear in every episode (except the pilot) of the relaunched 2005 season. I thought it would make a great derby name, and I personally love it when people ask me if my name is a reference to Doctor Who.
Q. What inspires you to kick butt like you do?
I kick butt?? Cool!! Actually I am personally inspired by the ladies on my league and most especially the absolutely incredible Sugar SKULLs.
Q. What is the best part about doing derby?
Stopping the jammer by driving her into the rail...that is so much fun.
Q. What advice would you give the new chicks?
Keep at it, the track and derby can take a toll on your body, but if you love it keep doing it...and get lower!
Q. What is your most embarrassing moment?
Ha!! There are too many to mention...
Q. What do you do when you’re not skating?
If I am not working or skating, I am either sleeping or working on some project somewhere. There is always something to do.
Q. What is your beverage of choice?
Cazadores Anejo or Colorado Whiskey; both are amazing
Q. If you could be an animal, what would you be?
Just wait for the next full moon and find out...
Q. And lastly, if you were caught in an elevator with the leading man or woman of your dreams, right now, what color underwear would they catch you in?
My big red wholly union suit...what? It's cold outside...
"Bad Wolf has been a great addition as Volunteer Committee head. She even thanks her members for doing their committee work, making it feel more rewarding. She also freely gives out advice on how to jam past her ;)"
"Over the last year, she has stepped in to help wherever needed, be it at track shift, helping new chicks, and stepping up to bench manage (not only the B-Team, but the travel team, and two home teams). As volunteer head she has helped organize the volunteer shifts for the bouts and help streamline how we track our volunteers. A few months back, she stepped in to help the Media Relations committee improve the league's social media presence and has become the creator of "Skater of the Week". Wolfie is a stabilizing and welcoming figure within the league and she represents what it is to be a skater on Tilted Thunder."
"She is an outstanding Volunteer Committee head. She does a stellar job organizing our league volunteers, as well as organizing league efforts to improve our community. Aside from her committee work, she is a supportive league member who always has a smile and a positive attitude."
"She consistently, tirelesslessly and aggressively strives to give her best at all times- both ON and OFF of the track!"
