Tilted Thunder Rail Birds — Seattle All-Female Non-Profit Banked Track Roller Derby
Rail Bird of the Month:
July 2011

Q. What brought you to the Tilted Thunder Rail Birds?
A. Once TTRB moved into my neighborhood, I thought it was a great opportunity to explore the fabulous world of banked track roller derby, and I've loved every minute of it!

Q. How did you come up with your name?
A. I'm a pastry chef and I wanted a dessert-y name. I thought of several that were already taken before coming to Creep Suzette. 13 is a baker's dozen :)

Q. What inspires you to kick butt like you do?
A. I've always been a pretty competitive person naturally ever since I was young. I have a strong drive not only to succeed, but move to the top of whatever I'm doing. I don't like doing things half-ass.

Q. What is the best part about doing derby?
A. It's hard to describe, but you just feel good when you're skating. I guess I'm just an adrenaline junkie :)

Q. What advice would you give the new chicks?
A. Don't compare yourself to other skaters. You can only mark your own progress. Anyone who says you can't do something is a liar!

Q. What is your most embarrassing moment?
A. On the track? I think it's generally embarassing when you trip over your own wheels, teehee

Q. What do you do when you’re not skating?
A. I'm usually working, or sewing, or watching sci-fi TV series

Q. What is your beverage of choice?
A. Water, then hot tea

Q. If you could be an animal, what would you be?
A. A vampire!

Q. And lastly, if you were caught in an elevator with the leading man or woman of your dreams, right now, what color underwear would they catch you in?
A. red and blue stripes
